Chapter 29

Todd flipped an old, crinkled, and cracked photograph onto the small table between their chairs. “Look familiar?”

“Really well preserved,” Nick said. He stared at the image of Simon Benning that glared back from the photo.

Todd reached over and patted Nick’s knee. “Time to get ready for another fun-filled night enjoying the sparkling company of Benning, Snow, Leo, and Heidi.”

By the time they reached the poker salon, the room was already crowded with players and guests. Nick sidestepped so he was mostly behind Todd and slightly to his right. He kept his head down, submissive, shy, and easily disguising that he immediately saw the way both Benning and Snow, along with a few of the others, watched as he and Todd moved across the room. All the men except Snow were more focused on Todd. Snow’s gaze stalked every move Nick made.
