For a long moment, neither Gordy nor Leo said anything. They just stared down the empty hallway until they were able to pull themselves together. The sweat on Leo’s back had pasted his shirt to his skin and he was suddenly freezing. The only thing he could think to do was step back into the apartment. He shut the door after Gordy followed him in and ran his hand through his hair. “Well, that was…”

“Unbelievable!” Gordy laughed, somewhat manically. “I mean, did that just happen?” Gordy’s expression was shocked but also wildly impressed, as if he’d just stepped off a roller coaster and was already deciding to go back for a second time.

Leo, on the other hand, was suddenly and completely exhausted. “I think our little friend might know we’ve got something going on in here.”
