Chapter 19

David ruffled his son’s hair and then kissed the top of his head. Even though Quinn confirmed he understood what was wrong about what he did last night, David didn’t necessarily believe it wouldn’t happen again. The boy was four, after all.

Kaden popped into the kitchen. “Everything checks out okay, but I would call a plumber when you get a chance to make sure.”

“Need me to help with the A/C now?”

“Yeah, I’d like to see if what I did helped make it work again.”

Before David stepped outside with Kaden, he turned to Quinn. “When you’re done with breakfast. I want you to get my cell phone. It’s in my bedroom. We’ll call your daddy and tell him you’re sorry. Later, you will also write him a short letter saying you’re sorry. I’ll help you.”

He expected Quinn to say something, but he didn’t.

David then went outside with Kaden. “I don’t know what to look for.”

“I’ll walk you through it.”
