“I’m not going to freeze. I could run through these woods stark naked and I wouldn’t freeze. You, on the other hand, are going to be very chilly as the heat dissipates.”

Smoke knew what the solution was. He just wasn’t sure if it was a safe one for him. Still, it was better than expecting an injured man to sit upright on a hard, wooden bench all night. “Fine. We’re both adults. Share the bed with me. You’ll keep me warmer than I can by myself, and at least you’ll be able to get a better night’s sleep. Deal?”

The look Gin threw him screamed suspicion. “You aren’t afraid I’ll accidentally turn you into a block of ice in your sleep? Or cuff you to the bed until I can make contact with an Alter Enforcement squad?”
