“That’s for scaring us all.” She let up on his injury, so she didn’t actually mean it. She was just taking advantage of the opportunity. “Oh my God, Transit was terrified.She only left her room after she found out you were safe.”

Gin waved to Transit and gestured for her to approach. “Are you kidding?” He winked at Smoke. “I should send her a fruit basket. Seriously, I couldn’t do the ice travel thing without hurting myself worse before now. Otherwise I’d have set your minds at ease a lot earlier.”

Transit hung her head. “I am so sorry. I’m not doing the teleport thing anymore. It’s too risky.”

Gin held up a hand. “You’ll get better at it. And it’s better we wound up where we did than staying in the warehouse with the bomb, right?” She bit her lip and nodded. He knew he hadn’t gotten through, not yet, but he’d get there. “Transit, this is Smoke. You helped him too.”

Her eyes widened. “You’re one of those Alpha Team guys. You know wolves don’t really work that way, right?”
