I walked up to him and slipped both hands in his thick hair, raising his face. “But…okay, I have to admit Myles is definitely intriguing.”
“You’re attracted to him then.” Derek’s tone was warm. His eyes, warmer. “Are you?”
I wasn’t sure how safe this conversation was. I moved away, going to the window to stare at the street.
Derek put his arms around my waist, leaning his chin on my shoulder. “I’ve been fantasizing about you two together.”
I swallowed dryly, my pulse shooting up. “Really?” I asked, trying to sound innocent.
“Do you think the brain injury has anything to do with it? They say it can change a personality. Can alter a man’s—”
“Oh, yeah, nice one, Der.” I turned around to face him. “It’s not me, it’s my TBI?” I scoffed and nudged his shoulder. “Please.”
He shoved me a little. “Shut up.”
“Um, guys,” Myles said, sticking his head in the doorway. “I’m off. I have my keys.”
