Slowly I made my way around to him and put my hands on his shoulders. “Don’t you know this is where you belong for now?”

“How long is now?”

“As long as you need it to be.”

“I understand why Derek is so addicted to you.” He pressed his forehead to my chest and inhaled. “You feel so good. So safe.”

I put my arms around him and squeezed him tight. “Just trust me a little, okay?”

He looked up at me. “I’m trying to,” he said, lowering his gaze to my mouth.

To prevent this from going any further without Derek around, I leaned away and grabbed my mug. “I should, uh, get to work.”

Myles was flushed. “Of course.” He was quick to gather his coat. At the door, he turned to look at me. “See you later. Don’t work too hard.” He flashed a beautiful smile, and then left, hurrying off around the corner to the back lot.
