One of the reasons our apartment was so expensive was the built-in Jacuzzi in the bathroom off the master bedroom. It seemed like an extravagant waste to me, but Jackson liked his little luxuries. I left Noah to his Xbox game, filled the Jacuzzi with hot water, and gratefully sank my body into it.


I had aches and pains in all kinds of places, in both body and soul. The water swirled around me, and I tried to let it wash away the tension and upset.
