Chapter 42

“I know you want what I do,” he said, finishing the thought. “And we have to start somewhere.”

“What about clothes?”

“It’ll take too long to fight with the sling.” He dropped his free hand to his fly. “I’ll just—”

“Let me.” Gently, Cole caught Brady’s wrist and pushed it away from the zipper. “I’ll do all the work. You won’t regret it.”

Brady stood there, motionless, as Cole sank to his knees. He’d been hard from the moment he’d pressed Cole to the wall. Just the sight of the top of Cole’s head was enough to make his heart bang against his ribs until it threatened to burst through. Then he remembered the fangs, and some of the desire ebbed for a moment.

Cole froze in mid-pull of the zipper and looked up. “Do you want me to stop?”

How did Cole know what I was thinking?Except Brady knew that answer already. His body would forever betray him. No secrets. No hedging. Cole would always have the advantage, while Brady was stuck relying on the old clues.
