Chapter 25

“So it’s just the two of us?” He leaned forward and kissed her jaw, then brought his mouth down her neck, delighting in the familiar taste of her skin.

“Yes.”

She dropped her head back, and he glanced up, noticing the way the sunlight caught her black hair and scrubbed skin. Her clothes were different, too. New. Cooper had been more than generous. Perhaps driven by loneliness to do whatever he could to make sure that his new guests didn’t leave.

“So I can do this?” He started at her throat and began to undo the long line of buttons. The new dress was nice, but a part of him preferred the simple shift she used to wear. This outfit required more delicacy from him. It required him to be patient as he slowly exposed her firm skin to his eyes, fingers, and mouth.

“Mal, this won’t…it won’t hurt you, will it?”
