Having Jesse home again is the only reason Gideon Keel needs to celebrate.  But their private party at Sangre screeches to a premature halt when their home is raided, Dominique is taken by Children's Services, and Jesse's counterpart is arrested. The room was sparsely decorated, though Jesse had made it a point to go to the closest department store for clothes, shoes, a new bed, and everything else she thought she needed. Gideon had not been amused. In fact, he had pointed out that the chances were good Dominique wouldn’t stay with them. But Jesse wanted Dominique to feel at home in the huge mansion, especially since it didn’t have the best memories for her.


How could Michelle have him arrested? How could she file charges of kidnapping? How could she disrupt Dominique’s life like that? And why did she think it was a good idea to drag the police into their business? Jesse was half-tempted to file his own charges against her, if she wanted to start throwing around accusations of kidnapping.
