“It’s awful,” he said. “I don’t think either one of us would agree to that.”

Gideon poked Jesse in the side. “You’ve never even told me what yours is.”

Jesse snorted. “That’s because I’d rather pretend I wasn’t stuck with it. We could use initials, though. Would you mind going by JT?”

The other pair exchanged a glance, though the way they both nodded nearly simultaneously in agreement was a little unnerving. Did he and Gideon appear that way to others? And just how long had Jesse—JT, he reminded himself—been with David to reach this sort of level in their relationship?

“Well, this is going remarkably well,” JT said with a warm smile. “One item down, only another…hundred or so to go.”
