More people milled outside the doors, gazing at the displayed art in the Richard MacDonald Gallery, or chatting about dinner at the buffet across the way. Seth stepped to the side, away from the majority of the tourists, but Caryn caught his hand and kept on walking, dragging him toward the bathroom behind the ticket booth. She completely bypassed the women’s bathroom to yank him into the men’s, sending one older gentleman at the urinal into a flurry as he zipped up his fly. She flat-handed a stall door and didn’t let him go until it was locked behind them.

“Just who the hell do you think you are?” Though her voice was barely above a whisper, it sounded hollow within the tiled and metal walls. “Do you have any idea what you’ve done?”

“I think I stopped you from fucking over my fence and making me lose a shitload of money. Do you have a different interpretation?”
