“Losing Seth is about the worst that could happen in the grand scheme of things. But I know him. And I don’t think he can just walk away from the scams, or the fun he has, or the money.”

“You haven’t even given me a chance—”

Caryn cut him off with a lay of her hand along his knee. It amused Brandon to think she’d discovered an off switch on Seth, but even more, the sight of them touching, even so innocently, reminded him of how badly he’d wanted to see them together in the bathroom only hours earlier.

“There are a lot of ways to make money and have fun,” she said to Brandon. “Did you consider the fact that maybe he’d be agreeable to finding alternatives rather than break things off with you?”

“I don’t just want an alternative. I want him to make a clean break from everything. Including the money we made this weekend.”
