“One down. You okay? You need a break?” Elijah asks.
“I’m fine. Just get them out, so I can heal properly.” Jayden groans.
“Half done,” Chogan says encouragingly.
“I need a beer,” Jayden complains.
“We have a case. You can have one once I’m done patching you up,” Elijah replies.
“After getting shot twice, you deserve more than one. But maybe drink them here. You’ve lost a bit of blood. That and alcohol doesn’t always mix well. Speaking from experience here.” Chogan smiles.
“You want to babysit me while I get drunk, be my guest,” Jayden retorts. He can feel Elijah pressing and pulling, and he tries not to focus on exactly what’s being done to his back.
“Babysit, get drunk with you. Same thing.” Chogan grins.
“We are on a case,” Elijah points out.
“You know I don’t get hangovers,” Jayden reminds him.
