“I do want you both,” Jayden admits, surprised by how easy the words come out.


Chogan smiles. “That’s a relief.”

“Something more long-term than that,” Eli says, shaking his head.


“Would that…can that even work?” Jayden asks.

Elijah looks between them, then says, “We could lose so much. We’re risking what we have, just admitting all this.
