He feels a little sick as he answers the call. Has Jayden taken off? Has he changed his mind about last night? Everything had seemed to go so well. He’d told Jayden how he felt, and he hadn’t been rejected. They’d slept together. He knows what Jayden feels like now. What will he do if he can never have that again?
“Morning, Eli,” his dad says, sounding perfectly awake, unlike Elijah. He also doesn’t sound like he’s freaking out, which Eli certainly is.
“Morning, Dad.” Elijah tries to sound calm. His voice must wake Chogan, because he starts moving against Elijah and yawning.
“My friend at the police station called,” Joshua says
“Is everything okay?” Elijah looks around the room as he talks. The bathroom door is open, but no one is in there, and Jayden’s clothes are missing from the floor where he’d left them last night. He’s definitely not here.
