“And you’re a drama queen.”
Charlie nodded, slightly embarrassed.
“I know, I know. I could have handled that better, you’re right.”
“You could have handled that somuch better,” Rosemary smirked, “but whatever, we’re cool now, right?”
Charlie nodded reluctantly.
“And we’re still on for Friday?” Rosemary pressed.
Her best friend offered an eye roll in return.
“I guess,” they muttered.
“Don’t sweat. Danielson’s not going to be there.”
There was a moment, and then Charlie said, “Yeah, about that…”
Rosemary blinked and gestured with her hand for the sentence’s conclusion.
“I bumped into him yesterday,” Charlie continued. “I think things are okay. Like, what he said sucked and everything, but I get why he said it. I think he’s just really unhappy.”
Rosemary’s eyes widened.
“Wait a minute, you’re asking me to sympathize with a jerk like Jason Danielson?” And then understanding dawned. “Wait, wait, wait, you don’t actually likehim, do you?”
