Chapter 7

“Yes,” she exclaimed. “It was fantastic. My daughter was always an adventurer, wanting to go somewhere else and explore. I didn’t expect her to move back here after she graduated but I think she may have found someone to keep her here. And…” She looked at Mycah. “How was your weekend?”

Mycah simply grinned and shrugged. Mary turned toward the outer office.

“Addy, come in here. You have to tell her some time,” Mary exclaimed. She held her hand out to welcome her daughter. “Mycah, let me introduce my daughter, Dr. Addison Ross Cooper.”

It was Sonny, dressed in a conservative gray suit that made her look very professional.

“Addison?” Mycah gasped, her hand to her mouth.

“I’m sorry,” she apologized with the cutest look on her face. “My mother always uses the beginning of my name, but when I was in grade school, my friends took the end and called me Sonny. I didn’t tell you.”

Mycah couldn’t answer. She was completely dumbfounded.
