Austin mentally kicked himself for the uncertain look he’d put in Luke’s eyes, but dammit, it was all he could do to not shove him against the wall and kiss the hell out of him. Fuck. The next time he and Riley were alone with Luke, he wasn’t holding back. They climbed into Luke’s hybrid and Austin gave a low, appreciative whistle. It was the most comfortable car he’d been in, in his life. Luke flashed him a grin as he started an engine so quiet Austin wasn’t sure it was on until they began to move.
It took no time at all to cross campus and reach his street.
“Pull into the driveway here.” Austin pointed out Riley’s home, grateful his mom was still gone. They had to hurry, though. No telling the fit she’d throw if she caught them inside. He pulled Riley’s keys from his pocket as they walked up to the front door. Luke glanced over at Austin’s house, but his face was unreadable. Austin sighed, wondering if he was comparing their homes to his and thinking less of them.
