Once out of the building, Frankie led the way to where he and Stuart had parked. Stuart shoved Troy roughly into the back seat then cuffed his ankles. “We’ve got one of the company planes waiting for us at Midway,” he told Vance. “Do you need to stop by your hotel to pick up your things?”
“Yeah, and check out.” He took out his cell then paused. “You didn’t tell Ginna what was going down.”
“Nope, as per your request. So I suggest if you’re calling her it’s just to say I love youand mission accomplished.”
“You know,” Vance smiled ruefully, “that’s something I never have said to her before.”
“Mission accomplished?” Frankie asked with a grin.
“No, you nut, that I love her.”
“Then maybe it’s time that you did,” Stuart scolded.
“Yes sir,” Vance replied, saluting. “I’m planning on it, believe me.”
