Chapter 36

“Yeah. That’s the reason why Dion is so powerful. He has the genetics of a warrior angel. At least one-half of him. No ordinary mortal can have any sorts of power. One of their ancestors has to be a supernatural being, and the genes are passed down through the generations.”

“I know all that.”

“Good,” Odon said. “Anyway, I’m here to discuss with you the problem related to the ancient demon. He’s hiding himself really well right now because he must be injured really badly after Dion attacked him, and he needs time to heal.”

“Dion defended himself.”

“Same difference,” Odon responded flippantly. “You need to keep each other safe, though. The ancient demon will definitely come after both of you, especially Dion.”

“He can try,” Galen retorted, and he clenched his fists tightly.

All of a sudden, Odon’s expression changed. Galen thought he detected a hint of sympathy in Odon’s eyes, but he must have imagined that.

“Everything happens for a reason.”
