I'm sick of being called Junior. Sure, I'm William Nicholas Martens, Jr., but I just want to go by Nick. I'm sick of my boyfriend mismatching his socks on purpose. And I'm sick of being in the closet.<br><br>All this changes when my band Taking Back Nick lands a record deal. My friends Casey, Kennedy, Levi, and I are about to make it big. In one night I come out to my parents and break up with my boyfriend. And then the hard part starts. Casey is my oldest friend, and I move in with him after my breakup. But things ... start to happen.<br><br>We skyrocket to fame, but Casey finds himself in the middle of some serious addiction issues. Combined with him showing me so much affection, I start to worry there's more going on than just the stress of success. Will Casey be able to overcome his addictions and find happiness? More importantly, will that happiness be with me?

Porch Light

Scott gave the doctor in the ER the low down of the situation, then gave me a pat on the shoulder.


“It was nice to meet you, Nick. I’ll talk to you soon.”


“Thanks for everything, Scott! And the other EMT’s, thank them too!”


The doctor proceeded to help me through all the x-rays and tests, and gave me some pain killers. Then, I was just lying in a bed in the emergency room. The doctor had given me my phone back, so I sent Casey a text to let him know I probably couldn’t make it to rehearsal because I’d gotten hit by a car.


He didn’t even reply, but showed up in a tizzy at the hospital. He rushed into my room and immediately gave me a hug. Then he jerked back like he’d been shocked.


“I’m sorry! I don’t even know where you’re hurt. Did I just hurt you? I’m so sorry!”


I laughed. “Yeah, my head hurts a little. But it’s my knee that’s killing me. Well, less, now that I took some pain pills. Why aren’t you at rehearsal?”
