Chapter 50

“Hey, let’s grab breakfast down here.” Casey gestured to the sign by the entrance that said Breakfast

“Yeah, they’re probably serving already.”

“What a night, huh?” Casey spoke with his mouth full of waffle. “I mean, what a rush! That guy was such an asshole, and we totally stood up to him!”

“Yeah. I just wonder how the cops got there so fast. It probably didn’t even last a minute.”

“They were probably already in the area.” He took a drink of his orange juice. I noticed he spiked it like he’d been doing with all his other drinks. “I mean, it was a Saturday night in a bar area. You know how Old Town is in King—cops are all over the place on the weekends.”

“Yeah. I remember when I got pulled over one time after picking you up from the bar. The cop saw me leaving the parking lot and started following me super close, looking for reasons to pull me over.”
