I'm sick of being called Junior. Sure, I'm William Nicholas Martens, Jr., but I just want to go by Nick. I'm sick of my boyfriend mismatching his socks on purpose. And I'm sick of being in the closet.<br><br>All this changes when my band Taking Back Nick lands a record deal. My friends Casey, Kennedy, Levi, and I are about to make it big. In one night I come out to my parents and break up with my boyfriend. And then the hard part starts. Casey is my oldest friend, and I move in with him after my breakup. But things ... start to happen.<br><br>We skyrocket to fame, but Casey finds himself in the middle of some serious addiction issues. Combined with him showing me so much affection, I start to worry there's more going on than just the stress of success. Will Casey be able to overcome his addictions and find happiness? He gave a weak smile. Something was definitely wrong with him.


We stood up and Levi gave the acceptance speech, making sure to thank everyone at Ackerman Records, especially Omar who helped us get on the map. He gave a shout out to his little sister and all the kids at Sacajawea Elementary School who listened to him play guitar sometimes. And then we were off the stage.


“I have to go to the bathroom.” Casey whispered to me as we walked off the stage into the wings.


“Okay…Casey, do you want someone to go with you?”


He shook his head, but I made eyes at Levi, who nodded and said, “You know what? I need to go to the bathroom, too. Show me where it is?”


We were about to make our way to our seats when one of the stagehands caught me and told me I was coming up soon to present best pop vocal album. I stayed backstage until it was my turn.
