Chapter 66

A three-hour flight later, and we were stepping onto Canadian soil for the first time. A driver was waiting to take us to our hotel before we went on one of their shows to record a story and song for the morning show. I posted a picture online outside the studio.

The entire thing went really well. The morning show people did a quick interview with us about the album that was set to come out, and we performed “Werewolves Broke My Heart.”

Then, as we all stepped out into the brisk Canada air, I heard a voice call out, “Junior! Junior!”

I turned and saw—

“Hector?!”

He walked quickly toward me and pulled me to him, kissing me hard on the lips for several long seconds. It had been several months since I’d been kissed, so I couldn’t help but feel a little softened by the feeling of his lips on mine. Finally, he pulled away, smiling.

“How was that for a greeting?”

“It was…well, I mean…what…what are you doing here?” I pulled myself out of his arms.
