Twenty-one certainly wasn’t a teenager, but Rob expected someone who looked as if he’d been wearing nappies only yesterday and didn’t need to shave. Lee was not what Rob predicted, and he hated to admit to an immediate attraction. So taken by Lee was he, Rob almost missed the startled glance the man aimed at Phil. Well, many people felt awkward in an interview, especially with someone else in the room. He must also consider Lee’s age, even though a split second later, nothing about the young man screamed discomfort or youth as he marched across the room, maturity in his expression, moving with ease, the greeting effortless, the handshake warm and firm.
“Take a seat,” Rob instructed. “Coffee?”
“Or tea,” Phillip offered. Rob glanced his way and spotted the smirk hovering about Phillip’s lips. Rob hadn’t offered coffee to any of the other perspective employees, and, anyway, he was wrong to assume everyone drank coffee.
