Velanis sighed. “He’s warded himself. I can get a general direction and a vague sense of distance, but it’s much more imprecise than I’d like. Still, a neighborhood to start in is better than nothing. Her Majesty is rousting out the rest of her Own, and if you’re feeling up to it, having eyes in the sky while we search would be good.”

“Definitely,” said Kelwyn. “I just need to go down to the stables first.”

Velanis nodded his understanding, and Kelwyn left him there, going out the window in a long dive straight to the stable yard. The stablemaster had stopped being nervous around him some months past, and it seemed that current events hadn’t rekindled his fear, for he only smiled and directed Kelwyn to an appropriate horse.
