“Oh. Fionn Grayson. Yeah, I think I like that.” He reached out and stroked Harun’s cheek. “And maybe, well…I dunno what name we might pick, but maybe, I don’t know…I think maybe now’s a good time to ask this.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little thing that he’d been keeping there all day. It was a ring, obviously much too big for his slender hands; a thick band of warm gold set with an oval ruby. “Harun, will you marry me?”

Harun drew in a sharp breath, then suddenly began to laugh. “Oh, Kelwyn. Yes! Yes I will. But I think also you should go look in the top of that little chest I keep in the wardrobe.”

Puzzled, but feeling warmly pleased all the same, Kelwyn rose and did so. The chest was mostly full of socks and such, but there was a small black box nestled between them. He picked it up. “Is this what you mean?”

“Yes. Bring it here and open it.”
