Why did he have to feel bad after hanging up on the anonymous caller the previous night? Was it because his mama always told him to respect everyone? But this person was the one being disrespectful. He left Ashley feeling a little—violated. Ashley should have felt relieved to have severed the connection before his curiosity won over.


But now the curiosity returned full force. Despite everything, it was somewhat flattering to have a secret, albeit stalking, admirer like that. Of course, Ashley realized he had to be careful about this. The man did sound sincere, and Ashley was determined to find out who he was before things spun out of control and Ashley was forced to go to the police.
