Chapter 37

“You picked the wrong Craigslist ad to answer.” The Amazon offered a hand to him. “I’m Andrea.”

“Josh.” He reached for her hand. “Thanks, but you really shouldn’t pick a fight with Bryce.”

The strength in her grip was strong enough to pull him to his feet. It was amazing how much power there was in her lithe form. About halfway to his feet, Andrea suddenly released him and he crashed back into the ground.

“Werewolf,” she hissed and took a step back. Her confusion seemed to heighten as she glanced at the dust from Bryce’s exit settling. “You’re both a part of the Silverbane pack. Why did he attack you?”

Josh got to his feet on his own and brushed off the dirt. The pale green vine tattoos that had blazed on Andrea’s hand when she fought Bryce were gone, unlike Regina’s tattoos that seemed as alive and vibrant as real plants even when she wasn’t fighting.

“We don’t get along,” he said, without going into any more detail.
