Chapter 53

Sarge’s expression didn’t soften, even as his lips curled into a smile that promised pain if Josh so much as breathed the wrong way.

“You smell familiar.” The third and shortest biker pushed the round end of his pool cue under Josh’s chin to lift it. “Yeah, I think you owe us a drink.”

Josh had to get away before they caught on that he was a werewolf too. They might not do anything to a human in such a crowded place, but they would jump at the chance to beat any werewolf that came across their path, especially one in a pack, especially an omega. It was how they proved their strength to each other and kept packs off their tails. If Josh was weak, the pack would look weak, and that would only attract more rogues to threaten their territory.

Sarge grabbed Josh by the shoulders and threw him into the pool room. It was all Josh could do to stay on his feet. He wasn’t about to antagonize them, but he couldn’t exactly pull the submissive act on them either.
