Chapter 33

“Marianne, this is Zach. As you may have gathered, you’ll be seeing a lot of him.” She seated them in a booth near the door, Zach and Jason on one side and Bobby on the other.

The waitress came over to their table right away. Bobby looked at the others. “Three coffees, one blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream, one peach, warmed with the same.” Bobby nodded to Zach.

“I’ll also take the warm peach pie with vanilla ice cream.”

“How cute, matching pie.”

“So, are you two going to tell me that you’re together? Shit, I knew that the first day we went to the park. The only people who didn’tknow were you two idiots.”

“He’ll get along with Keith just fine.” Zach laughed. The waitress brought their coffee.

“So now that you’ve deflated our balloon, do I tell you the rest or are you going to guess?” Jason asked with asperity, clearly exasperated that everyone they tried to tell knew about it before they did.
