Chapter 11

“I’m already in the bathroom. Unless you want to listen to me piss, I suggest you let me go so I can get ready. I have to look respectable. You said Mrs. Schwartz is going to be there.” Keith turned on the shower. “I’m hanging up now…” You should be here showering with me. Damn, I’ve got to stop thinking long—term. Maybe if I just accept what he’s willing to give, he’ll stay longer.

“Okay, I’ll see you at Jason’s at—”

“Seven thirty, I know.” Keith hung up the phone and got into the shower.

They got there at seven fifteen and seven thirty, respectively. After Jason and Zach got off the couch, showered, brushed their teeth, and changed their clothes they came back down to the kitchen.

“So when’s the wedding?” Keith asked.

“We have to get this house cleaned out and gutted first. We’ll need to put the furniture in storage until we decide what we want to keep. That couch is going though. I feel like I slept on a picket fence.” Zach groaned.
