Keith said, “He can have a sedative.”


“Yes, Dr. de Loria is taking responsibility. I’ve taken a CAT scan and a MRI. Not because I think Mr. Michaels is at risk, but because the severity of the accident and his emotional reaction to his parents’ death may cause us to miss something we should have seen. I’m sending the results electronically to St. Mary’s.”


“I’ll call Dr. de Loria and tell him to expect the test results,” Zach said.


“When Mr. Michaels calms, I’ll give him a cognitive function test and then we’ll see what needs to be done. You don’t have to call Dr. de Loria back, I will. He gave me his personal number.” Santiago walked away shaking his head. He turned and said to Keith, “I trained at St. Mary’s. De Loria is your personal physician. I didn’t know he still took patients.”


The nurse came in and gave Bobby the shot. Fifteen minutes later he was sobbing quietly, but not hysterically like before. Within thirty minutes, Bobby closed his eyes.
