“I didn’t do that much.” Bobby stammered.

“Bobby, you’ve been there for me since we met when we were seven, and you took the blame for the crack on Ann’s windshield. We worked all summer to pay for it, but I didn’t get a beating, and I didn’t get a lot of other beatings because of you. In this house, we love you, and you’re part of our family.” Jason gave Keith one of his lethal stars. “And you better remember it.”

“Thanks.” Bobby bit his lips because he was embarrassed, and his leg started to twitch.

“I’ve got to take him home to get settled. He needs to rest before the service tomorrow night. Edith, will you have his suits dry cleaned and delivered to my place tomorrow morning?”

“I’ll call them to pick up the suits. It’s going to cost extra because it’s a holiday and a one-day turnaround.”

“It doesn’t matter. He needs the two suits cleaned.”
