Chapter 56

“He may be scared, but I know Bobby. If he bought the car, he’ll damn well drive the car home tonight or die trying. Be the supportive boyfriend, not the parent. If you want the real Bobby back, you’ve got to stop babying him.”

“He still has nightmares although they are less frequent.” Keith brows creased in concern

“And he may have them for the rest of his life. He’ll either get over them or learn to live with them. You need to be there for him whatever happens.” Jason followed Keith out to the foyer. He opened the door and went down four steps. Bobby’s new car was two spaces away from the landing.

“Nice wheels.” Jason walked around the Outback despite the slush.

“Well, it doesn’t get the gas mileage that the Prius does, but it has a top safety rating.” Bobby was obviously proud of his crossover.

“We better get going, baby, before this gets any worse.” Jason cringed.

Bobby faced up and got snow on his eyelashes. Keith kissed each eye.
