Chapter 52

“You go back out into the laundry room, take that shirt, sneakers and those pants off and put them in the laundry basket. You’re not messing my floors with dirt.”

“Right away, Cecily. Then I’ll go up and shower.” Seeing Mark blush, Reggie got him a towel from the downstairs bath. Mark came out of the laundry room wearing the towel and his briefs.

Mark glanced at Reggie and mouthed thanks. Reggie nodded his head.

“Hurry up, I’ve got breakfast cooking.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Fifteen minutes later Mark was down the stairs wearing a clean T-shirt and jeans. “What’s for breakfast?” he asked Reggie.

“Swiss cheese omelets with bacon, home fries, and English muffins.”

“Good, I’m hungry. This homeowner stuff tires you out.” Reggie started to say something. Mark lifted his palm to Reggie.

“Stop. No, we’re not getting a service. With you starting a new business and me going to school full time we’re going to need to conserve our funds.” Mark pulled out his chair and sat next to Reggie.
