Genevieve sneezed.

Gray exchanged a concerned look with Enzo and then whispered, “I’m going to get a nurse.”

“She has pneumonia? How did a cold progress to pneumonia so quickly?” Enzo asked.

“Genevieve has a compromised immune system. She is vulnerable to bacteria and viruses. Fortunately, this is a case of bacterial pneumonia where we can push antibiotics to counteract the infection. We are also giving her oxygen to help her breathe and may take her up to the OR to drain some of the effusion.” Dr. Mahoney shook her head.

“How does this affect her long-term recovery?” Gray’s face was pale.

Enzo squeezed his hand.
