“Me, me, me,” he said, deleting the words. He thought about it and his heart quieted down. He wrote his message.


How are you? How is Chimera? Do you need anything? What can I do to support you right now?


With tears in his eyes, he sent the message and deleted it so Charon couldn’t see it. He gently placed the phone on the bed.
