Chapter 24

“Come on, I’ll show you the house.” Greg motioned for Brian and Jim to follow him.

Thirty minutes later they were back in the kitchen. “Pretty much a blank slate, hon. Did your Sir give you any instructions?” Jim asked.

“Danish modern, teak…that’s it. We need linens and towels, window treatments, bathmats, area rugs, you name it; we need it.”

“Jesus, the man lived like a monk? No linens, towels, blinds, or shades…Hrmpp. We’ll need to take measurements of the rooms and the windows, make a diagram. Good thing I brought my laptop. I have a decorating program on it.” Jim sighed.

“This is going to be fun. For once I get to spend and not use Papa Bear’s money.” Brian chortled.

“How big is our budget?” Jim asked.

“Believe it or not, it’s one hundred thousand dollars. We’ve already spent about three, so we have ninety-seven left. It seems that Cisco’s been saving for this for about ten years.”

“Looks like we’re not going to IKEA.” Jim said with a straight face.
