“That’s twenty-two thousand dollars came from Master Sayer.”

“Thirty thousand dollars,” Bull said, and he effectively ended the bidding.

“Going once, going twice, going three times, the bid goes to paddle number fifty-two. Jamie get dressed and go to Room One to meet your new owner.”

Jamie waited in Room One for his new Master. He prayed that it was someone that he could learn to love, someone who wanted him. He heard a soft knock at the door.

“Come in, Sir,” he said softly.

Bull Raleigh walked through the door. Jamie felt the tears come to his eyes because he knew he would never belong to this man that he loved. “Bull, you can’t be in here now, I’m about to meet my new Master.”

“Dressed in clothes that I bought you.” Bull lifted an eyebrow.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t think. I’ll have them cleaned and returned to you,” Jamie said in a weary voice.

“Why did you go out on that stage tonight? Why were you selling yourself to anyone else but me?” Bull asked gently.
