Chapter 29

“Caden will know that Gary is taking care of you because he got you the help you need. You’ll have more confidence and the ability to accept compliments, gifts and all the other good things Gary brings you without having a hissy fit. You’re a lucky boy. Gary is a good catch. There are lots of other boys who wouldn’t mind catching pitches from him.”

Brian smacked Jim on the arm. “Don’t mind him, it’s impossible for him to pass up the opportunity for a bad pun, but Jim is right, you need to see Greg.” Brian and Jim helped him wash the tea things. Jim had brought a dozen cupcakes so there were leftovers. Danny took three for Gary. Jim and Brian divided the rest.

“He’s due tonight, isn’t he, a scheduled visit?” Brian asked, drying the last cup.
