Chapter 34

Danny asked, “Can I put some flowers in the yard and in the front? It needs some flowers. I think lilacs and there’s a place for hydrangea bushes and a spot that is perfect for fragrant English lavender. Of course we can’t forget azalea bushes and chrysanthemums.” They walked around the back. “Oh, the brook that runs through the back, some of the water can be diverted to make a waterfall.” Danny was so caught up in the possibilities of the yard that he didn’t remember until after he opened his mouth that his contract only ran for six months. His face fell.

Gary followed his lover into the yard. “What’s wrong, baby? You can do the yard any way you like. Of course we’ll need a dog run out back, but other than that, it’s all yours.”
