Bear came up behind them. “There’s blood on Gary’s hand and head. Let’s get him into the house. Then we can decide what to do.”


Jim told Caden, “I don’t know where stuff is, so you get me a warm basin of water and some clean, hopefully white, wash cloths and some alcohol.” Jim cleaned Gary’s wound.


Caden said, “What happened? Where is my brother?”


“I came out of the car, and someone hit me over the head. I don’t think I lost consciousness but I did go down. I was disoriented. But I’m sure I saw Bruno Abano stuff a handkerchief over Danny’s nose and into his mouth and then take him away. I couldn’t get up.” Gary began to sob. “I was too dizzy to follow them, I tried. Please believe me I tried. You pulled in sixty seconds later.”


Jim said, “Call Cisco and Greg, he may have a concussion. We want to keep this hush hush in case someone is watching the house.”


“How did they get through the security?” Gary asked.
