“I always wanted to go in my sleep.”
“Are you really ready for this?”
“I’ve been ready for this since the moment I met you and knew that you were the one. I’m tired, Jess. Trust me, after a couple thousand years, you’ll probably be tired, too.” She dropped her hands to her lap. “Do you forgive me?”
“Yes. I wish…I wish we had all made different decisions. And I know that things aren’t going to be easy. It might be…it might be a long time before I feel entirely comfortable in my own skin. But that’s okay. I have Gideon, I have Emma, and Dominique hasn’t given up on me. I think things will be okay.”
“I think things will be okay, too. I’m going to go tell Dominique to get dressed.”
“Okay.”
She squeezed his hand one more time before pushing herself to her feet. “I hope she likes her blanket.”
“I’m sure she will,” Jesse said.
