Chapter 24

When he sat down to his simple dinner, his mind began to drift. Not to the night before, as unbelievable as it was. He didn’t need to linger on the night before, anyway. It had been playing in the back of his mind all day, Guy’s moans and pleas a constant soundtrack. Was it worth it? Had it been what he wanted? He had wanted to be close to Guy, but he would take it back. If it meant he could do something as simple as eat dinner with Guy.

But his mind took him further back. Years. To the first night he’d met Guy—Guillermo. That was how they had been introduced, and what Dane had called him for months until Guy laughingly informed him that nobodycalled him Guillermo, not even his family. Dane had asked if he could call him Guillermo anyway. It rolled off his tongue, almost as if he could taste Guy when he said his name.
