Fires are blazing across southern Utah, and Aaron Meyers, volunteer firefighter, knows he should be concentrating on the flames. Unfortunately, he's too distracted by former crush, and current New York City fireman, Xander Wescott.<br><br>Xander returns to Utah to help battle the flames threatening his hometown. He remembers Aaron as the gangly kid who used to follow him around, and he's unprepared for just how much he wants to know the man Aaron has become.

But he didn’t say it aloud. He just smiled and said goodnight.


Aaron knew he should never let Honey jump on his bed—it was very important to keep the proper boundaries with a dog like her—but he couldn’t ignore those brown, hopeful eyes. As soon as he settled under the blankets, he snapped his fingers and she jumped on the bed, curling into his side, resting her head on his chest. She couldn’t have been any closer, and Aaron’s heart twisted a little for the puppy. She wasn’t ever going to have enough love or attention. But at that point, her neediness didn’t bother him. He was feeling just as needy.
