The hair stood up on the back of his neck when Aaron tilted his lips sideways, catching the corner, the edge of the stubble he could never keep at bay, the line of his jaw. Xander returned the pleasure by doing his own exploration, and tasted the hard line of a cheekbone, the hollow of a cheek, the slope of his neck. They came back together as if on some unspoken signal, the nearly flawless match of mouths as telling as the goose bumps erupting along Xander’s arms.

Aaron pulled Xander’s shirt free from his waistband and up his back. Their mouths broke contact long enough to tug Xander’s shirt over his head, and then Aaron’s lips were on his again. His fingers moved up and down Xander’s back, trailing over his spine and ribs, tracing the lines of muscles. His callused skin revealed how hard Aaron worked, at the animal rescue, and the school, and as a firefighter. Despite the roughness of his skin, Aaron’s touch was soft.
