Mr. Adler said, “Justin, you should have told me about the situation. I know what he did to you and you shouldn’t have to carry this burden any longer. Go with your friend, press charges and file for a restraining order. I’ll man the store tonight.”

“I’m so sorry Mr. Adler. I never bring my problems to work. I’m sorry to be a burden. If you want me to leave I’ll understand with all the notoriety and now this—”

“Son, none of this was your fault. You’re a conscientious worker and have great artistry. I wouldn’t be able to replace you easily. Tomorrow, show up bright and early. We have two weddings to prepare for and we have to do chocolate boxes with four chocolates each for wedding favors.”

“I’ll be here, Mr. Adler. Expect me around seven. I already called in some of our part-timers to help with the weddings.” Justin had finally calmed down.

“Now take your young man,” Mr. Adler said, “and do what you must to get rid of that son of a bitch from your life.”
